Edna Holloran formerly of Sydney passed away peacefully at the age of 89 at Seaview Manor.
Born in 1920 at White Point, Victoria County, C.B., she was the daughter of the late Francis and Agnes (MacKinnon) Dixon.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; and two stepdaughters, Dolena (Sheldon) Andrews and Mary Planetta; step grandchildren, Keith, Sara, Sheldon; brothers, Archie (Susan), Dan (Leiza); and sister, Jean Jobe as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Russell Dunphy, brothers, Jellico, Leo, Parnell Williams and one nephew, Eugene.
Edna worked in her younger years at the Cape Breton Hospital. She and her husband Charlie owned and operated an oil business for many years in Sydney. Edna was an avid bowler, she loved to dance, attend family functions, as well as have a good laugh.
Edna’s wishes were to be buried at home in Dingwall where she grew up and frequently visited until her illness.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers society or charity of ones choice.
There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Dingwall. Burial to take place in the church cemetery.
