Carol Ann Brightman, age 69, of Garlands Crossing, Hants County, passed away Tuesday, April 24th, 2012, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on October 16th, 1942, in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Clara (Whitehead) Hood. Carol is survived by her daughter, Cathyann (Robert) Davis, Economy; her sons, Duane (Stacey) Sanford, Sussex, New Brunswick and children, Jeffrey and Duane; son, Stephen (Marlene) Brightman, Garlands Crossing and children, Stephen, Michelle, Bailey, Ameilia, James and Leah; special grandchildren, Scott and Suzanne Pemberton; sisters, Lillian Wilson, Brockville, Ontario; Eileen (Grant) Sanford, Lower Burlington; Dorothy Shay, Garlands Crossing; Hilda (Eugene) Stevens; Joanne Burgess, Amherst; Heather (Danny) McLellan, Grande Prairie, Alberta; brothers, Gerald (Doreen), Union Corner; Clyde (Diane), Garlands Crossing; David (Peggy), Union Corner; brother-in-law, Charles Wilkins, Garlands Crossing; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Clyde and Clara (Whitehead) Hood; she was predeceased by her husband, Reginald Charles Brightman (1997); son, Jeffrey Sanford; two grandchildren; sisters, Ruth in infancy; Maxine Wilkins and Jean Williams. Visitation was 2-4 and 7-9 Friday, April 27, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, in St. Thomas Anglican Church, Three Mile Plains. The Rev. Tom Henderson officiated , followed by a private family interment in Maplewood Cemetery, King Street, Windsor. A reception was held at St. Thomas Anglican Church Hall, Three Mile Plains.
