WATERVALE – Mrs Emma Louise Graham, 96 of Watervale, Pictou County, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 21, 2009, at the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.
Born on July 17, 1913, in Hants County, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Stanley and Clara (Esdale) Taylor.
Mrs. Graham was a person with a large heart who brought many foster children into her home and donated much to her community such as starting the Watervale Snowmobile Club which eventually became the Watervale Recreation Centre. She was a past president of the V.O.N. and the S.P.C.A.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Janet Lousie Rogers, Truro; granddaughters, Clare Davidson and Penny Blackwood; grandsons, Peter and Christopher Rogers; 12 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Henry Lawrence Graham, and second husband, Ralph Douglas Graham; sons, Ralph, Robert and Henry Graham; granddaughter, Debbie Rogers; and son-in-law, Aubrey Rogers.
By request, Mrs. Graham has donated her body to Dalhousie Medical School. A public memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Rev. Mary MacDermid officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the I.W.K. Children’s Hospital, Halifax. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
