Gordon Henry Laughington March 9, 1939 - November 17, 2007 Husband, father, papa, brother and friend Gordon was an inspiration to all his family and friends. Along with his wife, he laid the foundation for a strong, loving family unit. He was a quiet spoken man, but when he spoke everyone listened. Everyone was impressed by Gordon's strength, determination and selflessness. He embraced life with all of it's challenges and never complained. Despite those challenges, he faithfully served Jehovah for 40 years. He looked forward to his scriptual hope, of one day being in perfect health with no more pain, found in Rev. 21:4, "he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Gordon is survived by his wife, Vicki, of 49 years. His children Tracey (Steve), Rick, Scott (Stacey), Todd, Lillian, Harriett (predeceased), Susan, Noah and Starcey. Grandchildren Tiffany, Adrienne, Kalie, Dustin, Danielle, Caleb and Bailey. As well as, his sister Ev and her family and long-time friend, Elaine. All are welcome to a memorial service held on Saturday, November 24th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (1985 Curlew Road). A special phone service will be held simultaneously. Tea and refreshments to follow. The family would like to express a very special thanks to the Royal Inland Hospital ICU and 3 West Units for their compassionate care of Gordon. A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Francis and all the community nurses who cared for Gordon, and a special thank you to Dr. Dimma for his years of support and care for Gordon and family.
