In Loving Memory of MERLE FONOS On the morning of December 23, 2007 Merle Fonos, daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away at the age of 62 years. She leaves us to join her father, William (Bill) and her sister Darlene Wiles. Merle leaves behind her mother Adelene Desjardin, her sister Karen McFayden (Darell), her three children; Adele Smith (Monty) of Maple Ridge, Rose Fonos and Donn Fonos of Crossfield; stepchildren Brenda Mitzner, Eugene Fonos and Kim Fonos; nieces Lani McFayden (Jack), Laurette Boose (Tim), Karen Wiles; nephew Bill Wiles (Erin); grandsons Blake Fonos and Don Fonos; grand daughters Amanda and Amber Fonos and great grand daughter Camryn. Merle was born in Kamloops in 1945 and after moving around quite a lot, moved back to Kamloops in 1980 to stay close to her family. Merle had just retired last April from her job as the "TV Lady" at Royal Inland Hospital. She enjoyed being with friends, family, dancing and going to the casino. Merle will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. A Celebration of Merle's life will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 177 Tranquille Road, Kamloops.
