STAIRS, ALTON - Alton Clifton Stairs, 66, of Central Waterville, NB passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at The Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, NB. Alton was born in Central Waterville, NB, York County on August 24, 1945, son of the late Perley and Ella (Tapley) Stairs. Alton is survived by the love of his life, Muriel (Hickey) Stairs who where married in 1965, daughter; Annette (Ivan), son; Clayton, three grandchildren; Andrea, Jordan, Joel, siblings; Evelyn Hogan, Merdith, Archie (Ruth), Marcus (Viola), Malcolm (Barbara), Gary (Barbara), Carolyn Greer (Philip), Shelli Hansen (Jack), Kelli Lawson (Timothy), several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Alton was predeceased by an infant daughter; Michelle Louise, brother in law, Francis Hogan, sister in law, Norma Stairs. Alton drove bus for 32 years from Bull Lake to Nackawic.
Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville on Monday, May 14 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 15 from The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel at 2 PM. Interment will be held in the Hartfield Cemetery.
