The death occurred peacefully at Whisperwood Villa on Friday, May 11, 2012, of Helen Marie Smith (nee Redmond), formerly of Shad Bay, Nova Scotia, and Stanhope, P.E.I., age 80 years. Beloved wife of Warrant Officer Raymond A. Smith (predeceased). Dear mother of Michael (predeceased), Carol Bellefontaine, Belleville, Ontario; Douglas (Faye), Stanhope, P.E.I.; Karen (Paul) Wight, Deer Lake, Newfoundland; Krista (Brant) Collier, Stanhope, P.E.I. Loving Nana of David (Meghan) Smith, Jennifer (Darren) Currie, Bradley (Jessie) Smith, Sarah (Michael) Short, Michael Wight, Michael and Brian Smith, Julie and Kelsie Collier. Great-grandmother to Michael and Alexis Smith; Catriona, Morgan and Lorelai Currie. Survived by brothers William (Shirley) Redmond, Jack (Anne) Redmond; sisters Betty O’Brien, Carolyn MacIntosh, Margaret Anne (Bill) Edmonds and sister-in-law Yvonne Redmond. Predeceased by brothers Duncan and Carl Redmond and brother-in-law Douglas O’Brien. A memorial mass will
be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 3709 Prospect Road, Shad Bay, N.S., on Tuesday, May 15 at 9 a.m. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Shad Bay.
