It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Bridget McCann, 93, of Donkin. Bridget passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012, at the Charles LeMoyne Hospital, Quebec.
Born in Little Lorraine, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Sarah (Burke) Gallant.
Bridget was a former member of the CWL in Donkin. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Bridget will be sadly missed by her daughters, Brenda (Joe) Kelly, Quebec, Lorna MacMillian, Donkin; sons, William McCann, New Minas, N.S., Arthur (Helen) McCann, Brampton, Ont.; brother, John Burke, Little Lorraine; sister, Margaret McGrath, Sydney; cherished grandchildren, Rita, Sandra, Wanda, Dwayne, Bradley, Cheryl Ann, Darryl, Lori, Shawn, Ashley, Justin and several great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Bridget was predeceased by her husband, Peter, sisters, Catherine, Alice and brother, Leonard.
Visitation for Bridget will be held Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Gregory’s Church, Donkin.
Interment will be in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
