Passed away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, December 21, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer, Howard (Hobb) Thorne of Dildo, aged 82 years. Predeceased by wife Blanche Rosetta (nee Hancock) August 23, 1971. Brothers: Ernest (Lena), Charles, Claude, Ted and Ron; sisters: Alfreda (Harold Rowe) and Dolly; sister-in-law Clara (Cecil Gosse); brother-in-law Horm Ross.
Leaving to mourn sons: David (Gloria), Brian (Christine) and Norman (Jane); daughters: Dorothy and Janine (John); nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister Elsie Ross; sisters-in-law: Lucy Thorne, Edna Thorne and Dorothy Cranford (Ernest); a number of nephews and nieces; special visitors Glenn Reid, Lorne Foote and Brian Brown; long time friends Len and Millie Battcock.
Sincere thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Volunteers at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center and the Palliative Care Unit of the Carbonear General Hospital.

At Howard’s request there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to share their memories of Hobb following a family memorial service at Warren’s Funeral Home, December 26, 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
