Bernard Benoit
Passed away May 16, 2012 at the age of 60 years. Please don’t cry for me. Think of me – yes, but think of the good times we shared. Keep me in your heart and smile when you remember me. I am leaving behind so many friends and family back home in Newfoundland and here in Nova Scotia. Nina, my wonderful and devoted wife of 40 years – what a life we had. A lot of rough patches these last two years but I could always count on you to be there for me. My sons, Tommy in Degrau, Nfld, Sheldon (Darlene) in Mt. Uniacke and my daughter Jody in Sackville – I am so proud of all of you. I am counting on you to watch over your Mom for me. My grandson, Isia – I smiled my last smile for you – you were the light of my life. My mother Regina; brothers, Gervais (Kaye), James (Julia), Mike (Jean), Gordon (Marion), and Wayne (Rita) my brother in heart; my sisters, Kathleen Young (Joe), Beatrice Young (George), Bertina Young (Teddy), Merilda Graham (Jim), Linda Skinner (Henry), Urinna Skinner (Ike) – remember the good times and thank you for the “emergency” visits to Nova Scotia – they meant the world to me. A special thank you to my wife’s family who were always there for support – at any time of the day or night. I would also like to thank two special friends, Kenny and Danny Benoit who made our days a lot brighter on many occasions. To all my nieces, nephews and extended family, I can’t thank you enough for all your thoughtfulness, not just to me but to Nina and our children. My suffering is over, I am at peace and with my grandparents, Julia and William Benoit and my brothers, Thomas and Howard. This is not goodbye - we will all be together again one day – until then, live every minute of every day to the fullest. I will always love you. Visitation will be held on May 22 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Cape Church in Degrau, Nfld. Funeral mass will be held on May 23 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Marches Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations Our Lady of the Cape Church.
