It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Marie Melanson age 73 on Friday, May 18, 2012 at the QEII Halifax Health Sciences Centre, Infirmary Site, surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 20, 1938 in Springhill, NS, Joyce was the daughter of the late William and Anne (Gallant) Wilson.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be remembered by her husband, Donald. She will be missed by her five children, Sherry Cole, Dr. Cole (Norma) (Ivan) McKinnon, Norman (Bobbie) Cole, Ruth (George) Martin, Peter (Jean) Cole and the late Mark Cole; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and lastly the parent of a beautiful pure bred German Shepherd named Mark after her youngest son.
Joyce was predeceased by her first husband, Rev. Jerry Cole of Sackville, NB; as well as her half brother, Randy Burke.
Her remains rest at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with visiting on Monday, May 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from Campbell’s Chapel.
Interment will take place at the Sackville Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
