
Ethel ( McRae) Robb
Robb, Ethel (McRae) – Truro. The passing of Ethel (McRae) Robb occurred in the Colchester Regional Hospital on Saturday, May 19th, 2012 as a result of acute leukemia. Ethel spent many hours, when not with family, nurturing her African violets, knitting, and continuing her involvement with the Immanuel Baptist Church, which she had attended since 1941. Over the years she served on the Board of Trustees and Social Committee, taught Sunday School and participated in various church groups and was on several committees. She was predeceased by husband Earl “Tommy” Robb in 2006; sisters Myrtle (Ralph) Roode, Anne (Willis) Siddall; brothers Ivan, Russell (Edna) and Walter McRae; brother-in-law Earl McNutt. Ethel is survived by sister Alice McNutt; sisters-in-law Carolyn McRae, Nellie Robb; brother-in-law Ron Geldart. She will also be greatly mourned by daughters Cheryl (Philip) Murphy of Kingston and Marsha (Patrick) Murphy of Middle Sackville; grandchildren Jamieson (Shawni) Murphy of Beaumont, California, Robyn (Sean) Michaelchuk of St. Albert, Alberta, Tim (Amy) Murphy of Bedford and Jackie (Rob) Black of Middle Sackville; great-grandchildren Gavin Black, Logan and Liam Murphy, Peter and soon expected baby Michaelchuk; several beloved nieces and nephews. How she loved her family! Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, with funeral service on Wednesday, May 23rd at 2pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Pastor Kaj Binderup officiating, with interment in the Watson Cemetery. Donations in Ethel’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Immanuel Baptist Church or to a charity of choice.
