The death occurred at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton on Monday Oct. 6, 2008, of John J. Chaisson formerly of Tignish aged 98 years. He was born in Peter Road on Feb. 8, 1910, the son of the late Joseph P. and Rosanna (Arsenault) Chaisson. He is survived by his niece, Bertha (Francis) Blanchard, Charlottetown, nephews, Vincent (Julienne) DesRoches, Midland, Ont., and Joseph (Fleurette) DesRoches, Penetang, Ont., as well as a number of step-children. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Rosanna, his first wife, Josephine (nee Gallant) and his second wife, Emma (nee Gallant). Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road, for visiting hours Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral will be held Thursday at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
