DOROTHY LANE

Lieu de naissance : Saskatchewan, Canada

Lieu de décès : Saskatchewan, Canada

It is with great sadness that the Lane family announces the passing of Dorothy Elizabeth Lane on Saturday, December 26th, 2009 at Pioneer Lodge, Moose Jaw. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Joan (Ron) Hastings of Candle Lake, Linda (Keith) Koberinski of North Battleford, Terry (Bonnie) Lane of Moose Jaw, Wendy (Victor) Legare of Moose Jaw and Ricky Lane of Medicine Hat. Dorothy was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, a sister, a sister-in-law, an aunt and a friend. After a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease, Dorothy passed away at the age of 87 with her family by her side. Dorothy was born on October 26th, 1922 in Briercrest, Saskatchewan to Chester and Ada McCulloch. She attended Normal School in Moose Jaw and attained a teaching designation and taught at a number of rural schools. After moving to Keystown to continue teaching, she met and married Reginald Lane on July 31st, 1943. Together they ran the local general store for ten years before moving to Moose Jaw in 1955 where she later became a faithful employee at Zellers until her retirement in 1978. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, shuffleboard and was an active member of the Cosmo Senior’s Centre, St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, and the Presbyterian Women’s Association. In addition, Dorothy’s singing brought joy to many church services and other special occasions. She will be fondly remembered by many. In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, there will be a private family service held at a later date. For those so wishing, memorial donations may be made in Dorothy’s name to the Parkinson Disease Foundation of Saskatchewan, 103 Hospital Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7N 0W8.
Be not burdened with things of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savoured much.
Good friends, good times,
And a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed to brief.
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee.
God wanted me, He set me free.
Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. James Murdock, Funeral Director. 693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
