Swan, Janet Diane, 69, Folly Lake, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late William and Charlotte (McCully) MacKay. Janet was a member of the Debert Baptist Church, the Women’s Missionary Society of Debert and Wentworth, and the Wentworth Garden Club. An avid gardener she operated Swan’s Greenhouse, Debert with her husband Paul, before retiring to Folly Lake, NS and Clearwater, Florida.
She is survived by her husband Paul; sons, Shane Langille of Debert, Robin Swan (Denise) of Deippe, NB, daughters, Sherry Iaboni (Silvano) of Truro, Cindy Golding (Selwyn) of Alberta, Debbie Colwell (Mike) of Dorchester, NB; grandchildren, Michael, Kyle, Aled, Doug, Jacob, Jeremy, Ashley, Travis, Joni; brothers, Paul (Phyllis) of Lakeview, Dale (Jean) of Debert, Jeff (Shelle) of Mattatall Lake, Dan (Donna) of Debert; and sister Cheryl MacKay of Toronto, ON.
Visitation will take place on Friday evening May 25th from 7-9 pm in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Funeral service will take place on Saturday May 26th at 2 pm, Debert Baptist Church, Debert, Pastor Bill Martin officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Burial will take place at the Middle Road Cemetery, Debert. Family flowers only. Donations in Janet’s memory may be made to the Lymphoma Society or to the Debert Baptist Church.
