BURDEN, Margaret Mary – Truro, passed away peacefully at home in bed in Truro, NS on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, in her 82nd year, to be reunited with her beloved husband Donald Frances Burden (June 1, 1999). Margaret was born in Hamilton, Ontario and lived there for most of her life. She went back to college in her late 40's and received her Library Technician Diploma and had many happy years working for the CYO in Hamilton before retiring to Nova Scotia with her husband.
Margaret was the mother of 7 children; Dorothy Ellen (Chris Merritt), Joseph Mark, Margaret Frances (Evan Stuart), Matthew Edward (Catherine), Martha Mary (Donald O'Connor), Lesley Anne, and Claire Elizabeth (Anthony Umbrico). She had 13 grandchildren; Joanne, Mark, Karen, David, and Theresa Lenz, Genevieve, Aaron, and Constance Burden, Elizabeth McGill, Ambrose, Avery, Adrienne and Annie Umbrico, and 4 great-grandchildren. Margaret will be remembered by her 2 sisters, Dorothy Moorcroft and Joan Jeffrey.
Margaret was predeceased by her brother John Moorcroft.
Funeral service will take place on Monday, May 28th at 11 am in the Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince Street Truro. Father Dariusz Miskowicz will officiate with burial to follow in Robie Street Cemetery, Truro. Family flowers only. Donations in Margaret’s memory may be made o the Alzheimer’s Society. .
