Julia Ann MacNaught passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at the Prince Edward Home, Charlottetown, at the age of 68. Born in Coleman, P.E.I., she was the daughter of the later R. Bruce and Muriel (Wood) MacNaught. Julie was predeceased by her husband, Neil Gordon of Parry Sound, Ont., and her beloved siblings Mary Gallant of Duvar and Claude MacNaught of Coleman. She is survived by her sisters Eunice (Basil) Bottenfield, Prince George, B.C.; Bonnie (Harold Middleton), Oshawa, Ont.; and Dorothy (Neil) DuPlessis, Burtts Corner, N.B.; brother-in-law, Winston Gallant and sister-in-law, Leta MacNaught. She also leaves treasured aunts, Olive Grigg of Tyne Valley and Dorothy Rodgerson of O¹Leary, many loved nieces, nephews and cousins and special friend, Avril Gorham of Toronto, Ont. After leaving P.E.I. as a teenager, Julie enjoyed a successful career with Royal Trust in Montreal and Toronto and later with Canadian Depositers¹ Insurance Corp until her retirement to Harris Lake outside Parry Sound. She and Neil enjoyed a very active social life in Parry Sound where they were involved in seniors¹ hockey, volunteer work and community affairs. Julie especially loved to garden, knit, cook and make handcrafted items for her family. Julie and Neil spent many wonderful summers at their cottage in the Brae, P.E.I., where they entertained family, friends and neighbours. She particularly treasured the many happy hours spent reminiscing with her ³bro.² A memorial service to celebrate Julie¹s life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
