It is with sadden hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father and grandfather, Kenny, on Dec. 27, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, after a courageous 13-year battle with Huntington’s disease.
He was the son of the late Ruth Elizabeth (Lewis) Allan.
Kenny is survived by his daughter, son-in-law, and caregivers, April and Warren Higgins; papa’s pride and joy, Jennie; his special buddy, Landon; and his dear friend, Johnny MacIsaac.
Dad was a bricklayer with Sydney Steel and later worked at Heather Bowling Lanes until his illness. He was a diehard Habs fan, a true Cape Bretoner, and he loved going to his walk to Tim Hortons for an ice capp.
Dad’s smile was as big as his heart and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his uncle, Clifford Lewis,stepfather, Nelson Allan, and his best friend, and special angel, Jenny Gardiner.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30 at S.W Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel.
Dad, you are my hero, I love you and I miss you already. You and mom will always be in my heart. I thank God for giving me such wonderful parents.
