It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather , great-grandfather, brother and uncle, Stephen Seward Starkes age 69 years of Pool’s Island formerly of Wareham, passed peacefully away at Brookfield Hospital on May 17, 2012. Predeceased by infant son, his parents; Steward and Eliza Starkes, sisters; Jessie Cutler, Yvonne Gibbons, brother; Hayward Starkes, father-in-law; Frederick Green, mother-in-law; Josephine Firmage, brothers-in-law; Robert Green, Robert Winter, Joseph Gilly, Wendell McNeil, sister-in-law; Josephine Spurrey and special aunt; Annie Starkes . Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his wife; Ethel ( nee Green) , son; Darrin (Glenys Stokes), daughters; Connie (Neil Wakely) , Stephanie (Jonathan Howell), mother-in-law; Maude Green, sisters; Lilly Gilly, Mae Starkes, Pearl McNeil, Edith (Arthur MacEachern), Christine (Eugene Collins), brothers; Jacob Starkes (Patricia), Cyril Starkes, Fred Starkes (Marilyn), Rocky Starkes, special aunt; Jessie (Starkes) Kelloway, 6 grandchildren; Megan (Lee Attwood), Kasie (Mackenzie King), Matthew (Leah Olsen), Trevor, Marcus, Samuel, 4 great- grandchildren; Jacob, Jamie-Lee, Isabella, Caleb, sisters-in-law; Josephine Winter, Gloria (Harry Dyke), Margo (Robert Brown), Rexine (Tom Rogers), June (Tom Mills ), Sylvia (Brian Sellon), Linda Green, brothers-in-law; Elisha Green (Yvonne), Hedley Green (Gloria), Randy Green (Viola), Rodney Green (Neta) and a large number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and many many friends. Funeral service was held on May 20 at St. James Anglican Church, Pool’s Island with Rev. John Nicolle officiating assisted by Rev. David Coffin. Interment followed at St. John The Baptist Anglican Church Cemetery, Wareham. Donations in his memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Pool’s Island or to St. John The Baptist Anglican Church Cemetery, Wareham.
