The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, of Brian Newcombe, of Myrtle Street, Summerside, aged 57 years. Born in Tyne Valley, he was the son of Leigh Newcombe, Tyne Valley, and the late Christie (Maynard) Newcombe. Survived by his children, Jessica and her mother Barb Newcombe; Sara and Abigail and their mother Virginia MacIssac and hers sons David and Chris; brothers, Barry, Guelph, Ont.; Michael (Susan), Port Hill; sisters, Lynn Ferguson, Port Hill; Kathy Newcombe, Calgary, Alta.; aunts and uncles, Marjorie McCarty, Calgary, Alta.; Roy (Linda) Newcombe, Dundas, Ont.; Paul (Joyce) Newcombe, Victoria, B.C.; Robert (Dorothy) Maynard, Summerside; Lyman (Linda) Maynard, Oakville, Ont.; and James (Susan) Maynard, Georgia, U.S.A. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Tuesday, then to St. James Anglican Church, Port Hill, for funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment in the St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Port Hill. Visiting hours were held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Brian Newcombe Children’s Trust Fund would be appreciated.
