Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, Leamond W. Hopkins of Carbonear, age 87 years. Predeceased by wife: Stella; infant daughter: Jean; parents: Willis and Rowena Hopkins; baby brother: William George; sister: Jemima Evelyn. Left to mourn, six daughters: Lorraine (Hedley) Fong, Spaniard’s Bay, Judy (Glenn) Rose, Salmon Cove, June Hopkins, Margaret Hopkins and Evelyn (Derek) Ash, all of Carbonear and Bonnie Hopkins, Little Britain, ON; four sons: George (Evelyn), Freshwater, Carbonear, Elvis (Alvina), Carbonear, Woodrow (Beverly), Riverhead, Harbour Grace and Michael (Alicia), Carbonear; nineteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers: Harrison, Edmonton, AB and Llewellyn (Mildred), Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Pastor Deano Young conducted the funeral service on Saturday, May 26 at Calvary Pentecostal Church, Carbonear. Interment took place in Calvary Pentecostal Cemetery, Carbonear. As an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Carbonear General Hospital Palliative Care Unit c/o TCP Health Foundation.
