It is with deepest sadness that we say goodbye to William Raymond Pickering (Billy), who was taken from us on December 25, 2009.
Billy will be fondly remembered and missed by his loving wife of 47 years Fay, sons Rod, Jeff (Pam), his best friend and granddaughter Brianna, grandchildren Mathew, Jeremy, Desiree, great grandchildren Kass, Hayden, Autumn.
Billy leaves behind his mother Mabel, many siblings, Alvin (Carol), Jimmy (Lupe), Donny (Linda), Iris (Melvin), Shirley (Rod), Dede (Herman) and Fay, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Billy was predeceased by his father Raymond in 1995.
Billy was born in Swan River, Manitoba in 1944, and moved around with his family until settling in B.C. in 1965. Billy was a free spirited being who as a young adult travelled and experienced life until he met and married his partner of 47 years and continued to experience life. Billy was a plumber by profession but was skilled at many trades. He was a master craftsman, building homes throughout Westsyde and Noble Creek. He was also a successful entrepreneur. He was a thinker, dreamer, and believer, and achieved anything he put his mind to. Billy will be remembered for his carefree attitude regarding life, and his amazing sense of humour.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice Society of Kamloops.
No formal service will be held at his request.
