NORDAL It is with great sadness and disbelief we announce the sudden passing of Joan Allan Nordal on February 4, 2008. Joan passed away peacefully with her family and close friends by her side from cancer. She showed great strength and maintained her humour throughout her brief illness. She was a wonderful and truly remarkable woman who will always be remembered with a bright laugh and a warm heart. Her strength and endurance is an inspiration to all who survive her. She was a spark that is now lighting up heaven. She will be missed by her husband Mel, sister Pat (Chad), niece Tracy, nephew Mike and their children. Joan was predeceased by her mother and father, and her precious great niece Courtney. Joan was born on December 17, 1945 in Vancouver. Mel and Joan moved to Kamloops in 1986 and started Wall Units Plus. Joan was part of the successful Action 88 team and subsequently became the General Manager of KEDCO. During her tenor a KEDCO Joan was honored with many prestigious awards. Joan's family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to Joan's many friends, who through Joan's love became family, for always being there. A special thanks to the staff at RIH for taking the time and care. An informal gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the home of special friends Judi and Dave Ault, 1740 Sunshine Place, Dufferin, Kamloops, B.C. The family requests that any expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Cancer Society.
