FOSTER, ELSIE ALMA - Peacefully in Palliative Care, surrounded by her family at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on June 5, 2012, Mrs. Elsie Alma (Seamans) Foster, wife of the late Phillip M. Foster of St. George NB. Born at St. George NB on September 6, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Lillian (Tucker) Seamans. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, she is survived by one son, William Foster (Angela McVicar) of St. George NB; three daughters: Heather (Robin) Bunner of Victoria BC, Sarah Foster of St. George NB and Jackie (Derek) Welles of Blacks Harbour NB; six grandchildren: Suzan, James, Cassandra, Julian, Jackson and Josh; three great grandchildren: Zoe, Carter and Davis; one sister, Faye Brunett of Fredericton NB; one sister in law, Jean Seamans of Moncton NB; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Phillip, she was predeceased by siblings: Wilma Parks, Geraldine Stevens, Whitman Seamans and Cleo Elliot. Prior to her retirement, Elsie worked as both a Postal Clerk and a Store Clerk. Elsie was known to be a wonderful homemaker and when able she was an avid reader, gardener and cook. She loved music and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who brought her much joy. She was a member of the St. George Baptist Church.
As per Elsie’s wishes, there will be no visitation. The service will be held from the St. George Baptist Church on Friday at 2:00 pm with Rev. John Martin and Rev. Darren Millett officiating followed by the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Immediately following the interment, a reception will be held at the St. George Baptist Church Hall. In Elsie’s memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
