In Loving Memory of FREDON HENRY YEMEN August 1, 1923 - February 9, 2008 Fred passed away peacefully in the Royal Inland Hospital after a battle with Alzheimer's disease and cancer. Fred is survived by his loving wife Ruby, his children Catherine (Bill) Braunberger, Sandy (Cam) Guimont, Lynn (Jim) Nowasad, Terry (Pam) Yemen and stepchildren Darlene (Stewart) Bendick, Arlene (Dave) Edwards, Debbie Gilbert, Cameron (Rose) Winters, Darryl (Natalina) Winters, Mark (Deborah) Winters. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish his memories is his brother Don McArthur of Surrey, B.C. and many other relatives. Fred was predeceased by his mother Anne McArthur, father Walter Yemen and brother Bill Yemen. Fred was born in Toronto, Ontario and joined the Canadian Armed Forces for a brief time at the young age of 17. He then joined the Navy where he served for 25 years. He had many fond memories of the Navy, which he loved to share. Fred will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour. He liked to make people laugh and would whistle and sing choruses from the golden oldies. Fred's high standards and inner strength will not be forgotten. The family gives special thanks to Dr. Bill Stinson, the staff in the Emergency Room and 3 West for the care, patience and kindness they showed him. A Celebration of Fred's life will take place at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 15, 2008 at Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 177 Tranquille Road in Kamloops with the Reverend Sandra Sugden officiating.
