HOUGHTON, EDITH ANN (BROWN) 1924 - 2008 Born January 10, 1924 (Vancouver) to Edith Elizabeth (Wootton) and Col. 'Buster' Brown (co-founder, Odlum Brown). Died quietly February 11, 2008. Devoted wife to Ken (2006); beloved mother to Christine, Victoria, Malcolm and grandmother to Jahlie, Carly, Erin, Carmen, Nick; great-grandmother to Malcolm; dear sister to W.T. Brown (2006), M.L. Brown (2005), Jack Brown (1933); favourite aunt to her nieces and nephews. Ann was 2nd generation Vancouver-born, growing up on the University Endowment lands; graduated University Hill School (1942); B.Sc. from UBC (1946). Married Kenneth D. Houghton, July 10, 1948. Ann loved her early family years in Ashcroft (1949 - 1959), her Orchard Park years in Kamloops (1959 - 1979), and her proud years as judge's wife (1979 - 1994). Ann will be remembered dearly by family, friends, and the 'Bridge Club' for her intellect and fascination in science & anthropology, her reading (murder mysteries) & Bridge games, her culinary & gardening skills, her love of dogs & travel. Ann's and Ken's ashes will be spread at Pavilion Lake. A tea in Ann's honour will be held when the gardens are in full bloom and bursting with produce
