ANDREWS - THERESA MARIE BA, M.ED Theresa passed away suddenly on February 11th, 2008. Born August 24th, 1965 in Abbotsford, B.C., daughter of the late John and Illeen Andrews. Survived by her loyal guide dog "Finch", her loving partner Paul Thiele, sisters Peggy Trerice and family from Salmon Arm, Janet Rainville (Rick), Catherine Kerr (Darcy) of Kamloops and brothers Hugh of Vancouver and John (Julie) of Surrey and sister-in-law Debbie (Ron) of New Westminster. Theresa was predeceased by brothers Ron, Jimmy and Allan. Theresa, blind from birth excelled in all sports while attending Westsyde Secondary in Kamloops and then attended UBC graduating with a BA in General Arts and a M. ED in Counselling Psychology. Theresa worked as a counsellor at the CNIB Bowen Lodge, Braille Transcription and Computer Technologist. Theresa also worked at the Crane Library, a UBC teaching assistant and the vision Program at King Edward Campus (VCC). Theresa was a leader in the blind community serving as President, Lower Mainland Chapter, Alliance for Quality of Blind Canadians and a member of Blind Sports, Western Association of Visually Impaired Persons. A valued board member of Voiceprint National Programs, as well as Paws International Guide Dog Users. Theresa will be sadly missed by family and friends in Kamloops and Vancouver. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 16th, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 p.m., West Point Grey Baptist Church, 4509 West 11th Ave., Vancouver.
