Born in Blackburn, Scotland, daughter to Daniel and Alexanderina Friskey. Margaret was granted Canadian landed immigrant status in St. John, NB on April 10, 1922. The Family immediately proceeded to the West Coast and eventually settled in the Fraser Valley. Straight from high school, Margaret first came to Kamloops at the end of the depression in 1940 to see her sister Mary and get summer employment in the canneries. This is where Margaret met the love of her life, Jim McKinnon. They were married on October 31, 1942. Marg and Jim put their life together on hold for a few years as Jim answered the call to duty and was shipped overseas to fight WW11. Then came the family and all the "Fun Years".
