DEMPSEY On February 20, 2008 John Glen Dempsey was taken suddenly near Lac Le Jeune at the age of 45 years. He is survived by three brothers Gary (Vicky), Brett (Julie) and Lawrence (Judy), his two sisters Lorraine and Diana and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Catherine-Louise and father Ben. John was born in Castlegar, B.C. on December 15, 1962, he moved to Kamloops in 1970. After leaving for a few years in the spring of '78, living with his family in Houston, Texas then Whitehorse, Yukon before returning to Kamloops in 1979. He worked as a prep cook for a few years before dystonia, his disability made it hard for him to work. He then spent many years volunteering for People In Motion and occasionally with the Salvation Army and at the Men's shelter. A Celebration of John's Life will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel with Pastor Don Maione officiating.
