Kenneth Gregory Campbell died Oct. 17, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ken was born January 3, 1932, in Montreal to Ernst and Daisy Campbell. He had three older brothers, Alvin, Gilbert and Ronald. Ken's father was an American, which enabled Ken to join the American Air Force and fight in the Korean war. Following the war, he met and married Geraldine Annie Simmons, a native of P.E.I., with whom he was married for 51 years. Together, they spent many years in New York State, where they raised their two daughters, LeeAnn and Sueanne. After being in the restaurant business for 20 years, they retired to their beloved P.E.I. Ken spent many happy years in retirement: his daily trips to Tiny Acres Farm, playing golf, curling, and mowing his lawn. Every summer he looked forward to a visit from his daughter Sueanne and son-in-law Scot and his two grandsons Parker and Forest. And every spring and fall he and Jerri traveled to the States to visit their daughters and friends. Ken was fortunate in his life to having a loving family and neighbours. Though Ken had a gruff exterior, the people close to him knew he had a tender heart. He will be missed and may he rest in peace. By family request there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kenneth's memory may be made to the PEI Cancer Society.
