ANNETTE BOURASSA 1923 - 2008 On March 5th, 2008 Mrs. Annette Bourassa of Legal, Alberta passed away at the age of 85 years. She was born February 14, 1923 and is predeceased by her devoted husband Roger Bourassa of 52 years and survived by her children Aureline (Tom) Wainwright, Marcel (Anita) Bourassa and Robert (Shauna) Bourassa of Kamloops, BC. She also leaves her seven grandchildren Shari, Tammy (Kevin) Carswell, Allison, Christopher, Dannielle (Greg) Michiel, Adam, Alex and three great grandchildren Ashley, Brooke and Autumn. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Henry and Adrienne, Yvonne and Lou, Celine and Chris, Paul, Marie-Emma and Real, Maurice and Sophie, Jeanette and Emilien, and numerous nieces and nephews. Annette is the youngest of thirteen children and the last of her generation within the Samuel (Leonie) Cyr family in Legal. Annette was stricken very early in her childhood with scarlet fever which affected her hearing and speaking abilities for the rest of her life. As a result of the hearing impairment her parents sent her for several years by train to a Catholic institution for her education in Montreal, Quebec. Annette's mother, Leonie, wanted her to join the Catholic Church sisterhood believing she was not able to care for children properly. Annette's love for children was too strong to honor her mother's wishes and when meeting Roger, also hearing impaired, was married. Annette always enjoyed being around people and will be remembered by family and friends for her love, awesome smiles, warm hugs and great sense of humor. She loved keeping herself busy in her later year's playing cards and games, knitting and assembling puzzles. Our family would like to specially thank the Doctors, Home care, Hospice and volunteers staff, Bishop Monroe and Father Derrick for all the love and spiritual blessings she received while suffering from cancer. Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral with reception to follow, 225 Nicola, on Saturday, March 15th, 2008 at 11:00 A.M
