Scott, Colin Charles (Korean War Veteran), 82, a long time resident of Windsor, passed away peacefully at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, Friday June 8, 2012, with loved ones by his side. Born on February 28, 1930, Colin was a dear son of the late John and Nellie (Ramsdell) Scott of Montreal. He worked his way through the ranks of the construction industry, from a carpenter to later become Site Supervisor, with accomplishments throughout the province of Nova Scotia (Public Archives, Halifax; Vocational School, Port Hawkesbury; Hants Community Hospital, to name a few). He loved fishing and spending time on his boat. His overflowing workshop was evidence of his passion for woodworking and cabinetmaking, and his handyman capabilities. He was proud of his Scottish heritage and loved nothing better than listening to pipe and band music on his stereo, either at home or in the van while driving through the Nova Scotia countryside with Rae happily by his side. He was a friend to everyone and will be remembered for his generosity, his wonderful sense of humour and his kind and gentle manner. Beloved and devoted husband for over 50 years of Rachel “Rae” (Martin); proud and loving father of Judy (Keith) Bright, Saskatoon, Sask; Brenda (John) Lobb, Ottawa, Ont.; much loved by his grandchildren, James, Joel, Alison, and Jennifer; also great-grandchildren, Austin, Gillian, Brooklyn, Rowan and Elora. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and close friends. Colin was predeceased by his dear son, Donald; by his brothers John and Edward; his sister, Elizabeth. A service was held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No.009, 40 Empire Lane, Windsor. Padre` Terry Coldwell officiated, with interment at Maplewood Cemetery, King Street, Windsor. In lieu of flowers, if you care to make a donation, the family would like to suggest the Royal Canadian Legion No.009; the Hants Community Hospital Foundation; or to a charity of your choice. Inquires may be made to Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, (902) 798-2232. To add your condolences, click on “Sign Guest Book” at, www.lindsaysfuneralhome.com
