aka “Mickey’s Katie”
Katie, a long-time resident of the Sunshine Coast, passed away June 9, 2012. Predeceased by her soulmate Mickey Jay. Katie will be greatly missed by many.
Mom was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, as an employee at the Pender Harbour Branch #112 for 24 years, and as a very proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary in the Gibsons Branch #109.
Mom will be missed by many: her daughter Lynda, son Billy, granddaughter Candace (Peter), grandson Sandy, great-granddaughter Veronica, sister Beverly and family, sister Joan and family, Sam and Beverly, Carol, Mel, Irvine and Kathy, and Fred and Jackie.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses from the 2 East Wing for the wonderful care Mom received at Lions Gate Hospital. Thank you is not enough!
Close your eyes, Mom … you and Mickey have once again gone fishing!
A celebration of Katie’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion (hall) Gibsons, Sunday, July 8 from 1 to 3 pm.
Please, no flowers by request of the family. Donations can be made to Lions Gate Hospital Foundation if you wish.
