It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Amy Florence Vitkunas on Thursday, June 14th, 2012 at the Palliative Care Unit at Western Health in Corner Brook, NL following a courageous battle with cancer in her 63rd. year. Left to mourn with loving and fond memories, her husband Anton of 27 years, only daughter Lisa Duffney (Todd), two sons: Todd Duffney (Dianne), John Duffney Jr. (Nadine), one brother Walter Young (Joan), three sisters: Mary Lake (Pat), Shirley Fudge (Murdock), Judy Gaudon (Ray), mother-in-law Berta Vitkunas, sister-in-law Trudy Vitkunas, four grandchildren: Chantelle and Patrick Gallant, Jordan and Ryder Duffney Hann. Special friends and nursing staff in Valleyview, AB. Predeceased by parents Mary and Walter Young. Cremation has taken place at Amy’s request. A small gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Aux Port West at 2 PM, officiated by special friend Rev. Terry Boland. Amy’s positive attitude and determination to live life to its fullest was an inspiration to all that knew her and loved her.
