In Loving Memory of James Moreton West March 5, 1937 - March 17, 2008 We announce the departure of James to be with his Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, after a 3-month illness with cancer. He leaves his two sons Matthew of Toronto and Timothy (Nicky) of Edmonton, four grand-daughters Kayla, Kristen, Alanis and Shaylean, his sister Heather Noyce (Lionel) of Chichester and numerous other relatives in England, Australia and New Zealand. James was predeceased by his wife of thirty-four years, Edna and his parents Leslie and Marjorie. James was born a Kentish Man in Gravesend. After graduating from the University of London he emigrated to Canada in 1965 to begin working as a geologist in the mining industry at various mines in BC, Manitoba, Newfoundland, Ontario and the NWT. He met Edna in Hendrix Lake where she was nurse to the town site in 1967. They were married at 100 Mile House in 1968. Returning to university James received an M. Sc. from Queen's before continuing his work in mining. After Edna's retirement in 1993 they moved to Kamloops. Active in the Gideons International in Canada and Kamloops Gospel Chapel as well as enjoying the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra concerts and Kamloops Film Society he was a member of the Kamloops Art Gallery and participating in the Kamloops Stamp Club and the White Cane Club. He also took part in the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program of the Canada Revenue Agency. A Celebration of James' life will be held at the Kamloops Gospel Chapel, 1365 Tranquille Road at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 29, 2008. The family requests that any expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home, 72 Whiteshield Cres.
