ROOS 1927 ~ 2008 Hazel Mabel Harriet Roos of Kamloops passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at the age of 80 years. She is survived by her loving husband Eric of 51 years, sons Ed (Sandra) of Osoyoos, Allan, and Dave (Brenda) both of Kamloops, grandchildren Kyle, Aaron, Eric, Emily and Sarah; sisters Elsie Dowkes, Gloria (Ernie) Winstanley; and brother Joe (Rosanna) Dowkes. Predeceased by her sister Joy Hauser and grandson Adam Roos. Hazel was born in Nelson, BC on August 24, 1927. She grew up in Trail, Robson and Castlegar. Hazel met Eric in Trail in 1953 and they were married in 1956. They raised their family in Castlegar. Later they moved to Fort Nelson, then Houston, before retiring in Kamloops. She was a big supporter of her kids and was very active in her church. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the excellent staff at Overlander Extended Care for their wonderful care of Hazel. A Celebration of Hazel's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25 in the Summit Drive Baptist Church, 1975 Summit Drive, with Pastor Harry Bicknell officiating. If friends wish, donations in Hazel's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
