Everett James McCully

McCully, Everett James – 69, Debert passed away peacefully June 15, 2012 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro he was a son of the late Sidney and Lillian (Geldart) McCully. He worked in the family business, McCully and Soy Limited and was very devoted to his family and community. His woodworking hobby benefited the community in many ways. His life was one that was filled with generosity and a caring spirit. Everett was made an honorary member of the Debert Fire Brigade and was a member of the Debert Royal Canadian Legion and the Debert United Church. He will be forever remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him. Everett is survived by his wife, Jean (Geddes); daughter, Susan (Walter) Rodler, Debert; son, Mark (Shelley), Great Village; grandchildren, Melissa (David) Rector, Megan, Danielle, Liam; great grandchildren, Ryan and Brody; brother, Leonard (Doreen); sisters, Irene (Aubrey) Gratto, Linda (Earl) McCurdy, Priscilla (Eric) Jennings, Donna (Brian) Johnston; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Mae Matthews; brothers, Mike, and Manning and two infant sons. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 17 from 6-8 pm beginning with a Fire Brigade Tribute service; Memorial service on Monday, June 18 at 2 pm all in Debert United Church with Rev. Don MacQueen officiating. Interment in Debert Cemetery, Plains Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Debert United Church or Debert Fire Brigade.
