In Loving Memory of James Edward Allan Mr. James Allan known as "Jack" was born in Lumby, BC October 31, 1919. He moved to Wilkie, Saskatchewan with his family. As a boy, Jack worked with his father until he joined the Royal Air Force in 1941. Jack married Maxine in 1943 and shortly after went overseas to serve in the war until 1946. Returning home he and Maxine went into business by purchasing the Brancpeth General Store. It was here in 1950 their son Robert was born. In 1952 they sold the store and bought the Pleasantdale Hotel. Jack and Maxine also owned and operated the Red and White Store. It was here in 1957 their daughter Shelly was born. In 1968 the family moved to Canwood, Saskatchewan and once again were in the hotel business buying the Lincoln Hotel. Jack and Maxine lived in Prince Albert for the next 30 years. In 1998 they were blessed with their first grandchild Matthew. In 2001 Jack and Maxine moved to Kamloops, BC to be closer to family. Jack passed away peacefully on March 24, 2008 at Pine Grove Care Center at age 88. He is survived by wife Maxine; son Robert (Mary Jo) of Ocala, Florida; daughter Shelly (Chris) and their son Matthew Lederhouse of Kamloops; brother Rinehart of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba; and sister Cecelia of Niagara Falls, Ontario, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Langford and the staff of Pine Grove Care Center. A funeral service for Jack is being held in Melfort, Saskatchewan.
