FRANCES KIM WING We sadly announce the peaceful passing of Frances Kim Wing on March 15, 2008 in her 95th year. Kim's husband of 75 years, Peter, passed away just 10 short weeks ago. The two were inseparable in life and now they are together again. Other family members Doris, Sam, John, Clara, Jean and George have predeceased her. Kim is survived by her sister Mary, brother Jim, and many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and nieces. Kim led an active life in Kamloops, being a constant companion and mentor to husband Peter whose life and career ran the gamut from retailer, farmer, realtor, and local politician. Whatever activity Peter was involved in, Kim was at his side or in the background to ensure that schedules were kept and protocol was unbroken. Summers at the farm were especially exciting with visits from nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Kim's cooking was fabulous and delicious, skillfully created on a basic wood stove. Kim was a member of the Kamloops United Church and participated in many church related activities. She was also a member of the Soroptimist club. She was an inspiration to everyone who met her and her smiling face remained unstoppable right to the end. A memorial service will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, 1835 East Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. A memorial service for both Peter and Kim will be held in Kamloops in May. Flowers gratefully declined. Rather, a donation in memory of Kim may be made to Tapestry Foundation for Health Care, 3080 Prince Edward Street, Vancouver, BC V5T 3N4.
