The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I., on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008 of Elaine Mary "Sis" Bergeron (nee Companion) of Summerside, aged 74 years. Sis was born in Murray Road, P.E.I., on Aug. 12, 1934, to her late parents, Mike and Thelma (nee Fitzgerald) Companion. Beloved mother of Marilyn (Brian) MacDonald of Ingersol, Ont., Donna (Andrew) Gallant of Wellington and Michael (Peggy) Coolican of Hopatcong, N.J. Also lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister, Roberta (Donald) Perry and her brother, Bobby (Carol) Companion, all of Ontario. Besides her parents, Sis was predeceased by her brother, Billy Companion, her sister, Olive Arsenault and her first husband, Joseph Martin. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, Oct. 25, for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours on Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations in Sis's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
