CLARKE, MARLENE ELIZABETH - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Marlene Elizabeth Clarke nee Dorcas of Hampton, wife of Robert William Clarke on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at home after a lengthy and courageous battle with Cancer. Born in Harvey, NB, June 1st, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Keith and Lillian (Vandine) Dorcas of Saint John. Marlene is survived by her husband, Robert Clarke; three sons, David Hampton and his wife, Leslie, of Westfield, NB, Terry Hampton and his wife, Noreen, of Kingston, NB, John Hampton and his friend Joyce of Saint John; sister, Jean Andrews, Mass; three brothers, Cedric Dorcas of Saint John, Robert Dorcas of California, Winston Dorcas of Mass; daughter-in-law Joanne Hampton of Saint John; sister-in-law, Doris Flecknell of Bloomfield; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special lifetime friend Nancy Dunlop. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, James Hampton; brother, William Dorcas; nephew, William Dorcas Jr.; one brother-in-law, William Andrews; sister-in-law, Dale Dorcas as well as two nieces, Marilyn Andrews and Susan Dorcas.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West, (634-1701) visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9p.m. A funeral service will held on Thursday, June 21st , 2012 at 11a.m. from Castle Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery. A reception will be held in the Castle Fallsview Reception Center, following interment. Donations in Marlene's memory may be made to the charity of choice.
