MIYOKO SHISHIDO 1918-2008 Miyoko Shishido of Kamloops passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 7, 2008 at the age of 89 years. Miyoko will be lovingly remembered by her sons Terry (Beth) and Eric (Maggie); daughter Ruth (Paul) Beday; and her seven grandchildren Tara, Jodi, Kelsey, Craig, Alisha, Todd and Kyle; and two great grandchildren Presley and Aidan. She was predeceased by her husband Masae, in 1996. Miyoko was born on June 2, 1918 in Vancouver, BC. She attended school in Vancouver and graduated from Vancouver College in 1938. Miyoko met her husband Masae in New Denver and they were married in 1943. They returned to Japan, where they stayed for three years, before coming back to Canada to reside in Kamloops. She enjoyed caring for her family, tending to her garden and sewing for family and friends. Our family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Southpark at Overlander Extended Care for their compassionate care. The Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 10, 2008 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vern Frudd officiating.
