ELLIOTT, LINDA (nee Wood) It is with deepest sorrow that we announce that Linda was suddenly called home to be with her Lord on April 9, 2008. Born October 22, 1948 in Newcastle, England, she is survived by her loving husband and soul mate, Alan, daughter Sandra (Dan) Defoe, son Keith (Dana) Elliott and her five precious grandsons, Jordan & Connor Defoe and Noah, Lane & Ryder Elliott. Linda will also be dearly remembered by her brother Alan (Pam) Wood, her sister Susan Wood, step-brother, Colin (Julie) Pattinson, and sister-in-law Doreen (Jim) Prior all of Newcastle; brothers-in-law Bill (Mary) Elliott of Spain, Paul (Pauline) Elliott of Australia, their families, and her very special Aunt Elizabeth & Uncle Douglas Dunn of Newcastle. Linda and Alan emigrated from England to Canada in 1968. In 1970 they moved to BC and after a few detours came to settle in Kamloops where they raised their family. Linda worked in both the TRU Library and Bookstore for a number of years before retiring in December 2003 to spend more time with her family. As a wife, she was passionate and devoted. Together, Linda and Alan enjoyed many trips. Her bag was always packed and ready for the next vacation, a past-time they enjoyed often. As a mother, she was strong, supportive and she loved unconditionally. As a grandmother, there was cookies to make, hikes to take and so many hugs and kisses to give. As a friend, she was kind, compassionate and gave selflessly of her time to others - and who could forget her fantastic sense of humour. Along with her family, her home and garden were her passions and her hospitality was second to none. She will be dearly missed by so many family and friends. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 17th, 2008 at St. John Vianney Parish in Westsyde. Schoening's Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
