On Sunday Richard (The Cowboy) Paquette passed away suddenly at the age of 68 years. Richard was born March 7, 1944 in Fort McMurray, Alberta, during his life Richard lived in many places but always came back to Kamloops, Kamloops was his home.
Richard will be mostly remembered for his warm loving heart and his love for children. He would have the biggest and warmest smile when a baby was in the home, this child would always be in his arms. He loved children and they loved him. Richard's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. He had a passion for traveling and would spend many hours on the road with his good friend Dave. He also enjoyed fishing, even though he didn't catch much, but he liked spending the time with those he cared for, his fishing buddy Burt and recently his grandson Josh. Family gathers were always looked forward to by Richard, he was always found 1st in the food line, it didn't matter who the dinner was for he was always 1st.
Richard is survived by his son Daryl, daughter Melanie and 11 grandchildren. He also is survived by his two brothers Fred (Donna), Howard (Ann), sisters Rose (Dick) Lee, Dorothy Ajaxs, Ann Magowan, Yvonne (Burt) Hauge and Lorraine (Ken) McDougall, many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed by all.
Richard was predeceased by his parents Augustine and Dorothy Paquette, sister Bertha Johnson and brother Edward Paquette.
As requested by Richard no formal services will be held.
All those who would like to join the family at Hillside Cemetery for the interment are welcome, at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012. There will be a reception held (following the interment) at 767 York Street. Please join us for refreshments and sharing of memories.
