Inkster Helen Elizabeth (Betty) Inkster (nee Mathieson), beloved mom, mom-in-law, sister, aunt and nana passed away with grace and courage at home surrounded by her family on Saturday afternoon, April 12, 2008. Aged 86 years. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 49 years, William Harcus Inkster, her brother Bob Mathieson and her grandson Caelin Smith. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her children Joan Inkster-Smith, Roberta Holdener (David), Jim Inkster (Lynn) and Alma Jean Inkster (Perry Plasche); grandchildren Lisa Inkster-Smith, Colin Holdener (Kristin), Jenny Inkster (Rollen Lee), Sarah Inkster (Jeff Ruddick) and Erin, Lindsay and Kimberley Reid; brothers David (Kathy) and Allan (Marilyn) Mathieson; several nieces and nephews. A gentle lady, Betty lived her life with a balance of strength, calm reserve, and unwavering love and loyalty to her children and their families. The family wishes to thank Dr. Philp, Dr. Armanious, and Kerryn & Rowena from Community Care Nursing for their compassionate assistance. A Celebration of Betty's Life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Trinity United Church, 3300 Alexis Park Drive, Vernon with Blair Odney officiating.
