Lieu de décès : Colombie Britannique, Canada
In Loving Memory of Joyce Ann Gibbon (nee Carr) It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend Joyce Gibbon of Kamloops on April 15, 2008 at the age of 64 years. Joyce was born in Creston, BC on January 15, 1944. She married Glen on March 30, 1964 while living in Creston. Through Glen's job as a surveyor (Ministry of Highways - construction branch) it took Joyce and family around BC, from Creston to Prince George, McBride, Nakusp, Cranbrook, Jaffrey, Slocan, Shawnigan Lake, Vancouver Island, Merritt and finally to Kamloops. In all these places Joyce met and made many friends. She was active in sports: softball, badminton, bowling, curling and most of all she enjoyed the outdoors. She enjoyed fishing the creeks and lakes, camping in all the areas she lived. Joyce was a great lover of animals. She could not walk by a horse, cat or dog without going over and petting it, "Tigger" (Mary's Boston Terrier) will sure miss her. Joyce enjoyed the Canada Games Pool in Kamloops and had been a member ever since it opened. She met many people and lifeguards at the pool. She was always so friendly, always had a smile and touched so many people in a very positive way. Joyce had a way about her that people seemed to adopt her and confided in her, as a friend or as a motherly figure. She will be sorely missed at the pool. Joyce leaves behind her husband Glen, her two daughters: Mary Gibbon of Kamloops and Leona Lane of Kelowna, five grandchildren: Jarrett of Merritt, Jordanna and Breanne of Prince George, Brogan of Kelowna and Jennifer of Red Deer. She also leaves behind her brother George Carr of Invermere, sisters: Ellen Malberg, Winnifred Herrick, Tina Rotvold and Betty Cale all of Cranbrook. There will be no formal service. The family wishes that any expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the S.P.C.A. Kamloops Branch, 1211-8th Street, Kamloops, BC, V2B 2Y3. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Justin Clark of Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 554-2324
