In Sun Valley, Calif., Mabel Mary (Kennedy) Fennessey passed peacefully on Oct. 2, 2008, at her residence at the Villa Scalabrini Retirement Home, from complications of a broken hip. Daughter of Patrick and Winifred (Gallant) Kennedy, born in Palmer Road, P.E.I., Canada on May 13, 1912. Loving mother of Carol (Joe Wegrocki) Charron of Long Beach, California; doting grandmother to Richard (Renee) C. Weaver II and adoring great-grandmother to Ryan, Rachel and Crista Weaver of Moreno Valley, Calif. Devoted aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, especially Cora (Glen) Caldwell of Halifax, N.S. Proceeded in death by her beloved husband, John Fennessey, on Nov. 29, 1979; also by her parents and sisters, Marjorie, Ruth, Ada and Hazel. Mabel and Johnny lived in Tignish, P.E.I. where he was a successful lobster fisherman until their move to California in 1959 where she was a Laundromat manager for 13 years prior to retiring in 1972. She lived in Montrose, Vista Tujunga, Long Beach and Sun Valley over the years in California. Memorial Mass was held on Oct. 17, 2008, at the Villa Scalabrini Chapel. Interment beside her beloved Johnny at Eternal Hills Cemetery, Oceanside, Calif..
