BEVERLY ELAINE KWONG (YOUNG) April 12, 1930 - April 19, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Beverly passed away quietly at the Good Samaritan Hillside Village in Salmon Arm on April 19, 2008. She is survived by her husband Jim, sons Stephen and Christopher, daughter Andrea, brother Don, sister-in-law Anne, daughters-in-law, Sandra and Colleen, grandchildren Courtney, Kyle, Kirsten, Evan and Alex, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 12, 1930, Beverly lived a full and active life. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics in 1951 from the University of Manitoba. She spent her internship in Hamilton, Ontario and then went on to be a dietician at Kamloops General Hospital in BC in 1956 where she met her husband, Jim Kwong. They were married in 1960 and moved to Calgary and finally Regina to raise their family. While raising her family she stayed active in the church and in the Regina Christian Woman's Club. When she found the time she loved to play bridge and entertain friends and family. In her retirement years she moved to Sorrento, BC where she lived out the rest of her life. The Kwong family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to the many caregivers who gave of themselves in caring for Beverly at home as well as the staff of the Good Samaritan Hillside Village for their kindness and compassion. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on May 9, 2008 at the Kamloops United Church, 421 St. Paul Street. In lieu of flowers, donations in Beverly's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of BC (www.alzheimerbc.org, 1-800-667-3742) or to the Good Samaritans Society (www.gss.org, 1-877-437-3600).
