It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Marie Dennis, age 84, of Glace Bay. Anne passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, Anne was the daughter of the late Richard and Theresa (Mahoney) Woodford. Anne was a member of St. Leo's Church, Glace Bay.
Anne is survived by her sons, Tom, David (Sandra); stepsons, Robert (Naomi) William (Denise); sister, Agnes (Andrew) McKinnon; cherished grandchildren, Robert, Sean, Michael, Mark, Aaron, Katie and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are very special friends, Janet and her husband, Jim Burke and Angela McKinnon. Anne would have been at a loss if these special friends had not taken her under their wing. Their acts of kindness were second to none and asked for nothing in return. Their friendship was cherished by Anne and the family is forever grateful.
Besides her parents, Anne was predeceased by her husband, Alfred ‘A.T.’; daughter, Theresa; brothers, Fred, Roy, Raymond and sister, Olga and her very special friend, Fabian McKinnon.
In honouring Anne's wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A mass will be offered for Anne at St. Leo's Church, Glace Bay on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.
Donations in Anne's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Palliative Care.
