UNA (GRAY) PEACH
CARD OF THANKS
“Una (Gray) Peach”
We, the family of the late Una Peach, Port Morien, wish to take this opportunity to thank all those whose generosity and compassion helped alleviate the passing of a beloved mother. To the staff of McGillivray Funeral Home who handled arrangements in their usual low key and professional manner. To Rev. Judi Phillips for her compassionate and heartfelt homily at the service as well as words of comfort to the family. Rev. Vernon Reid and Rev. Glen Kent for their assistance at the service and friendship to mother over the years. The combined choirs of St. Paul’s, St. John’s and St. Luke’s for their professional renditions of mothers favourite hymns. To the ladies of St. Paul’s Parish for providing and catering to the memorable reception. To all the friends and acquaintances who expressed their condolences verbally and by numerous cards and memorial donations. To Drs. Cadegan, Robello and Jihrad who tended to mothers medical needs in the latter years of her life. The women of St. Paul’s Guild who, over the past sixty plus years, managed to send her home from the meetings with a song in her heart and a smile on her face. The many exhibitors in the Port Morien Community Fair who continued to participate despite Mum’s kicking their butts by winning the overall First Prize for many consecutive years. To her Bingo buddies who, every Monday night, managed to bring a smile to her face with their risqué jokes, told in somewhat hushed tones that only those in the immediate vicinity could hear. To our own contemporaries who, having feasted on her homemade cookies, candy, fudge and popsicles in their youth, grew up to become her friends. To the people of Port Morien who accepted and embraced her from the day of her arrival in 1945 and worked with her in numerous charitable and community activities over the years. Having left behind her own family and friends upon her marriage she was extremely fortunate to have come to such a welcoming community, a fact of which she was well aware and continually remarked upon. To all her friends, past and present, who contributed to her having a life that was full and rewarding and which she felt she could leave having no dreams unfulfilled and no prayers unanswered, we wish to express our heartfelt thanks. God Bless You All.
